· Hunger can be described as “the most extreme
form of poverty.” Hunger can be better defined as what a person feels when a person does not eat the amount of food
necessary to survive and remain active.
· Hunger is about the relationship between food and what it
takes to obtain food. Many people throughout the world suffer from hunger and hunger-related issues. The cause of hunger is
either no available, fertile land to grow the food on, or there are no funds available with which to purchase edible food.
· Directly, many people, especially those in third world countries such as
Honduras and the countries of Africa, suffer from hunger. However, there are also many people throughout the world, including
in the United States that go hungry every day. Many times these people are thought of less because they come from advanced
nations. Also affected are those who have lost their job, or those with mental illness. Indirectly, people in the middle classes
are effected everyday. These are the people who, for the most part, try to help to provide food for those suffering “at
home” as well as in foreign nations. Missionaries travel to these areas to help too.
